Apophasis Anyone? Put Your Rants Here!

Here's the post for your not-so-polite rant about something using the handy Greek technique called apophasis. Here's a web link for apophasis.

The Tailgater: A Rant.

I’m a speeder; I admit it. Normally I go about 15 to 20 kilometers per hour over the limit. Fast enough (most of the time) to dissuade people from tailgating. *Now, I don’t mean to say that my time is more important than anyone else’s, but in the case of the tailgater, I’ll make an exception. His or her (and indeed it’s 50-50 these days) need to get to the next red light just a little bit faster than I do is not a good enough reason for me to move on over. Well, most of the time, that is. If the tailgater looks a bit “loco” and I can see the veins starting to bulge and pulsate, I might decide that a trip over to the other lane is worth my time and effort. No one in their right mind really thinks that increasing speed for the typical distance between two traffic lights makes a bit of difference in the overall time of a trip. Or do they?

Apophasis

Hi Brad. I've read and re-read your rant. It's great but I still don't have a clue what apophasis is. Could you please help?

Thanks.
