What is the quietest thing you heard this week? Note what created the sound, and use metaphor or simile if you can. Do not write from memory; instead, use a direct observation of something you noticed during the week before next week's class.

Like the sounds of tree leaves rubbing together, my jacket swished as I walked beside the Queen Elizabeth Park lawn bowling green this afternoon.
My puppy's half-sigh, half-whimper, as he curls up contentedly on my lap for a nap while I work on the laptop, like a baby satisfied after a feeding and cooing as he drifts off to a peaceful sleep.
An ant army was marching an inch away from my foot, yelling “Hoo! Ha!“ as they carry on their backs their treasured food-- a bread-crumb, I wasn’t sure- which was at least five times heavier than them. I wanted to help the tiny creatures, so I stepped on them, ending their suffering, but soon I realized I made a mistake. I heard someone crying.
Quietest thing
Quietest thing. . . a moment of silence when someone passes away. People use a moment of silence to show respect for people who have died. During the moment of silence, people often bow their heads, remove their hats, and do not speak or move in the memory of that person connected with the event being honored. A moment of silence may come before or after other events with symbolic meaning. for example The Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver
