Using Phrasal Verbs
Write a dialogue in the same way as the BBC example where you use four or five phrasal verbs. Use a couple of the "extra" ones we discussed if you can find a way to fit them in. For interest, include more than just dialogue (setting, character's actions and the like)
“Burned out! What do you know about being burned out?” With that, Molly slammed down the pot onto the stove, sending the contents spraying sideways onto the burner.
“What do I know? You need to slow down, really, you do,” Fred said. He knew better than to comment on Molly’s spill. That would only enrage her all the more.
“You're really taking over my life. What business it of yours?” Molly glared at Fred as she furiously wiped down the spilled carrot soup.
“Man oh man, I'm so sick and tired of arguing and hashing this over again and again.” Fred meant that. Molly had been even more difficult recently, more on edge. Sometimes he wondered why they’d ever married.
“Maybe we should get away? I don't know; maybe you're right. I've been working awfully hard lately.” Molly smiled at Fred sweetly. He was a peach, especially lately. She couldn’t imagine life without him. With that, she turned to him and kissed his cheek.
Amy: “Would you like live in Vancouver after you've lived here for 5 years?”
Ben: “I quite like it, but if the consumption level goes on such high, I should prefer to get away to a cheaper place!”
Amy: “But if you get good-pay job, surely you wouldn't turn down the opportunity to leave here.”
Ben: “Do you really think I can find such a job here? If the economy continues to cut back job market!”
Amy: “I overheard the school district is going to hair some ESL teachers.”
Ben: “How many chances does it bring in?”
Amy:” Not so much as you expect!” Ben: “What a irony here....Vancouver, one of the best inhabitable city in the world. Can't it take up a less expenditure and bring in more jobs?”
Amy: “Take it easy. Just keep your mind out of anger and buck up, dude.”
Ben: “well, I really hope the government can manage the difficult situation when economy is down. “
Amy: “yeah, let us hope, tomorrow will be better off.
Former adult teacher who loves island beaches. Happy homebody and family man; once devoted dog owner, now without Tashi, my Tibetan Terrier. I prefer the absurdity of the imagination to the absurdity of imagining nothing.

Vicki: do you want to make out?
Matt: Vicki! Are you hitting on me?
Vicki: yes I am. I’m really into your sexy body.
Matt: This is so sudden. You need to slow down girl.
Vicki: sorry if I’m coming on too strong; you’re just such a turn on boy.
Matt: that’s ok; I’m really moved by your gesture. I had no idea you felt this way.
Vicki: really? Well now you know so let’s get it on!
Matt: whoa, calm down and let go of my shirt!
